During our three week Africa-Based Orientation in Kenya, we had long days of training that were both mentally and physically draining. Out of the three weeks, we had one day off, and we decided to go on a Safari trip. During the Safari trip, God continued to show me how great He is as the Creator of the universe. As the Creator, He certainly created a lot of creative creatures, one of them being a giraffe. Not only does the photo below show you one of the unique creatures that the Creator created, but as you can see, the background shows you also another amazing creation of His, the formation of the earth and how He wants it to be. I can only stand in awe of Him.
As I mentioned in my last blog entry, we had Africa-Based Orientation at Scott Theological College. At Scott Theological College, I built a lot of great relationships with the African students there. These individuals have a great passion to serve the Lord. One thing that I will truly miss about the three weeks spent in Kenya was having to dine and fellowship with these students.
Before I left, one of the students wanted to encourage me while I am in Arua, Uganda serving God as a Youth Worker. He read out a particular Bible passage to me and I would like to pass it on to you as well.
Psalm 20:1-9
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
May He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. (Selah)
May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from His Holy Heaven with the saving power of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!
