Tears

A friend of mine came back from East Asia to share with his supporters of the things God was doing there. One of the songs we sung were the Tears of the Saints. I forgot about the song for some time until I began to think about what to blog and try to find some inspiring videos to post. As I was searching on YouTube some of the various mission videos, I came across this video, and that was when I began to remember the song.
Here are the lyrics to the song:
There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People's hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures

This is an emergency!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We're crying for them come back home
We're crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In it's state of desperation
For Your glory

This is an emergency!

Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children in Christ you stand!

And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

Treasure To Bring With Me

What do you treasure most in your life? Maybe it's your home, your car, your status, your job, your income, your knowledge, your education, your health, your physique, your significant other. What do you treasure most?

During my time in Uganda, I hope to teach on this topic. To focus on having to disciple the young individual lives of others, becoming Christ-centered and to treasure Him with everything in them.

Many times in North America, we've been sidetracked with many of the things mentioned in the video, when really we should be focusing on Heavenly things, not material things. When we think too much about our own needs, and not the needs of God, we become very self-centered and not God-centered.

So here's my question to you, in your life, what do you treasure most in your life?

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Challenge

Recently I attended two weddings and I was able to share with individuals what I do for a living. After sharing with them about what God has called me to do in Uganda, I was able to share with them the huge challenge as a missionary. When I first applied to Africa Inland Mission, one thing I knew was that God will never forsake me in whatever decisions I make and that I've made a huge commitment and put my life into His hands. During the times where I would share with others about Uganda, I would let them know that being a missionary is a very challenging and difficult lifestyle, not only on the field but off the field. I tell others of how much faith is required at this point of my life because choosing this lifestyle as a career is not the easiest choice to be made, nor will the tasks be easy. A lot of the faith comes in when you realize how much you have to rely on God to provide the required funding to live as a missionary.

Looking back at how foolish I was to doubt God and His power and provision, I can truly say that God wants me there in September. As of today, I am at 81% of my monthly target and 25% of my outgoing target.
